Re: Pictures of my 67 Chevy
Rats, I guess the grille guard is different from the oem. This link shows the original style, way down at the bottom.http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&postcount=885

Re: Pictures of my 67 Chevy
Thanks guys.
As far as I know it is all original, paint, 2 tone, spare tire. The only things I know that are not, the side mirrors (still have originals), radio/speakers, and rubber touching the ground. My grandfather was a cattle hauler and bought this new. The brushguard and diamond plate steel bed were dealer installed options, I'll have to check with my dad. My granddad passed in 1976, I remember it having only 23k miles, my dad and I put most of the miles on it roofing houses in the 1980s. My grandmother used it to haul trash to the dump and get groceries after she sold her 1974 impala in the 90s (wish I had that car now too). She passed in 2008. My dad asked if I wanted anything from the estate, Me "only the truck". As to what I'm planning to do with Her. Clean her up for now. Needs a little TLC since sitting since 2008. I did submit to powerblock tv for their makeover. I'd like to restore to new, but sounds like I'd be better off just cleaning her up. I'll post more pics soon. Thanks again. |

Re: Pictures of my 67 Chevy
and a couple more. when took the rear-end pic, I noticed the wood slats in the bed. Looked a little closer, the diamond plate is just slid in on top of the original wood. I also found the original radio under the seat.

Re: Pictures of my 67 Chevy
That thing is awesome! All original paperwork too, wow. It sure would look amazing restored. I would run it as-is until I could afford to rebuild the engine, recover the seat, clean the frame/suspension and repaint it in original color. That's just me, it's your truck, so don't listen haha. Good to see a family truck staying in the family and your grandpa, grandma and dad sure did take care of it. Nice truck and pics.

Re: Pictures of my 67 Chevy
Cool old Texas truck, used for exactly what it was designed for. Do you have any pictures of the wood under the diamond plate?

Re: Pictures of my 67 Chevy
Not yet. I'd just noticed that the diamond plate wasn't permanent. I'd always been under the impression that plate replaced the wood. Once I get the branches out of the back, I'll pull the plate off, check and take a pic.

Re: Pictures of my 67 Chevy
We are like two ends of an era: yours a 1967 stepside with side spare and mine a 1974 with the same set up.
So that's what a 283 looks like! For the longest time I wanted one in my truck. What a thing to get man! |
