Re: 60-66 pictures thread index
I like that muscle memory cruise control LOL....I bought an '83 benz from an uncle of mine years ago and he tore out the cruise control and told me "you really dont need it"
After a couple long trips I was seriously considering updating it but it was a lot of cash to do it....BY the way I finally learned how to post pics for here's my '61...... El_bole P.S. bed is chopped, orig. a long bed, so I am going to have to get a new frame for my new bed....(vacilating whether to keep a stepside or look for a fleetside) |

Re: 60-66 pictures thread index
My first car was a dirt brown '70 Dodge Dart. The throttle cable was broken, but there was a BOOT LACE poked through the firewall. 318 and automatic - Pull it and you better hold the hell on! My cousin fixed it when I got it home. The blinkers we're bare wires hangin from the bottom of the dash. Touch the wire to the door sill to ground out the circuit and get the blinkies. My dad bought that car for $75 and said drive this... or walk. I drove that car for a year til I get rearended by a Bud Light truck. Needless to say, I could afford a better car after that. Haha.

Thanks a ton man for such detailed pics and explanations about your '66... I'll be replacing the front end on my '61(I know its way different) with a '73 C10 front end... The pics give me new found confidence to delve into my project.....What size drop spindles did you use? Or better said what is the actually drop length? Thanks, Roberto P.S. still devouring every pic especially front end replacement. Did you stick to the same rear axle? |

Re: 60-66 pictures thread index
Gracias Amigo mio,
I like the color too -- look at it just right and it has a purple hue to the blue. Looks flat gorgeous in morning and afternoon light. Sheepishly, I must admit, I purchased this baby with most of the work done. Since I've had it (about three months) I tore out the old wood bed (was already 25 percent gone) and installed a new steering gear. That was a real challenge since power steering system is not original equipment. As well, the side mirror came with it. I have seen the same side mirror (I need another one for the passenger side) advertised as reproduction on LMC. Check it out here: http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cbe/full.aspx?Page=47 Thanks again for your comment! Rokit |

Re: 60-66 pictures thread index
Gracias a Udsted companeiro!
I'll check out LMC's site...Just want to avoid the humpty dumpy ear side mirrors, effective but uncool..... Good thing you purchased it like that because though the work can be fun it;s still WORK lol... Hasta luego, el_bole Quote:

Re: 60-66 pictures thread index
Our previous '66 GMC before, after hit by a 15 year old in a Focus, and the project it became. That is a home made 4dr, using the original '66 cab, the rear cab is a '63 with 8" taken out of the front section of doors, top to bottom. All sitting on a stock lwb '63 torsion bar,x frame.
