Crossin' my fingers that my deal for a '68 C30 just like that Ebay one goes through. For the times that my Chevelle is actually ON a trailer, it'd be cool to have one the same 1968 model year. The truck's a 454/granny 4spd., was used in a movie in the 70's, then slipped through the cracks. Doesn't look to have any rust areas to speak of, we'll see........all for the price of a decent, used, open car trailer.

special-K,

I noticed your floor shifter is located differently than others I've seen. It's closer to the dash and the shifter is bent, not straight. What's the difference?

I see Tim is not online, so I will give you some shifter info. Probably a big block, all mine mount closer to the dash because the motor mounts further forward to clear the firewall. Plus the bent shifter is from an SM465 (68 and later I think) It also has the reverse on the other side than the SM420.

Found the org Special paint on my Slant Back yesterday...looks like champagne. They painted some Chevelles "Sierra Fawn" in 67, could that be it? Whatever it is this was one pretty truck when it was new!

Wow Brad, thanks for showcasing my "ramp tramp" for me. The Chevelle looks pretty cool on there. I had about a 1/4 inch on either side of the tires between the rails. The other one was on the way back from L A where I bought it from Sean Kanaly (board member Hulkwillsmash) I have one more I will send you of me hauling the rare 160 inch wheelbase "Donkey" extended cab frame that I bought from Rob Hart (board member HartRob) in Pensacola on my trip home from L A. Hard to believe it even fit. Thanks again for posting these.

I remember when the McClaren tuck made the journey back east.

Here's a truck I helped a guy out on. He needed rear drums for the HO72 and needed it inspected pretty quick to get a contract requiring x amount of registered trucks. We ended up making 14-bot brakes work on the HO72.

Real nice truck. I'm suprised it's not a big block..was it common to have 350's in 1 ton's? I don't know much about them but am learning fast.
Tim, did you get a good look at the rearend and spring setup on mine yet?

Here's a '72 Wrecker that I just saw on the Craigslist in Vallejo/Benicia, CA. Not sure what the guy is asking, says to make offers.

Whoa, didn't think the link was that big, geez. Good luck to all!

Re: Lets see pics of your wreckers, slant backs and tow units...you knew this was com

Out in the back garage sits a low-mileage and no-rust 72 C30 MoHome - just beggin me to strip off the MoHome aspects and turn it into a nice hauler. Maybe even add a small sleeper right behind the cab. In my dreams it is a very nice rig.

In the meantime, I lift and drag stuff around with this:

Dang it. Why are all the motor homes always in New Mexico and NOT in New Jersey or New York or some other new place closer to me ! hehe I would give it new life as a motor home if you ever decide to sell it or donate it to charity (me). Cool wrecker either way.
