thanks for the compliments guys...I can't tell you how happy I am...I ordered the drop spindles and flip kit I think before Thanksgiving last year...

and just for fyi I cut 1 3/4 coils off the factory springs, 3" drop spindles, flip kit in the rear and one leaf pulled out of the pack before anyone asks...

also, the truck is 34" to the body line in the rear and 32 I think in the front...it might be 31 in the front...if someone really wants to know I can measure it tomorrow or something...
Could you take the measurements for me??? I plan on doing a 6-7 or 8 drop on mine.

Re: I think I nailed it...

I am liking it . I can only imagine the look on someones face when they are checking it out and you start it up to leave . Diesel? But its a short bed ?
The diesel adds to the cool factor.

Re: I think I nailed it...

Looks excellent!
Did you cut the original springs or new ones?
When I had my '80 shortbed I cut one coil plus 3" of another with stock spindles and it rode like crap, maybe my coils were wasted though.

Hurry up and get that thing on the road so you can give us the road test report

Re: I think I nailed it...

Hey Stitch,

That looks great! What size tires do you have up front and how close are they to your inner fenders?

Thanks,
Ed

Re: I think I nailed it...

I think they are 245/40 up front and 295/40 on the rear. I'll have to check. There's room to the inner fender but I'm not sure how much. I have to go measure the bodyline tonight and I'll look at the inner fender tonight.

Thanks alot pops.

Re: I think I nailed it...

i just read that it's a diesel.thats cool, mine was too.the guy i got it from swapped it before i got it.i always thought it was kinda funny they made shortbed 2wd diesels.i always associate diesel with work type trucks, like longbed 4 x's...does or did that have a two peice drive line?

Re: I think I nailed it...

Hey boat. It has a one driveshaft. And I thought it was funny too. When I first bought the truck I thought it would pull a house but it won't. But it gets great fuel mileage thiugh

Re: I think I nailed it...

The 82 I just bought was also a diesel, but the p.O swapped the motor over to a gas. So is yours still a diesel stich? If so can you post some engine pics.?

Re: I think I nailed it...

Looks really good. I think you'll be pulling the springs though. The last truck I dropped settled quite a bit in the front after I drove it some. Looks good though, good luck.
