I have looked at a truck for a boardmember that was near me, and a boardmember looked at a truck for me that was in California. Just ask, and someone will check it out for you.
I have over 40 Pictures and ive talked to the guy about everyother day this week and last, he seems like a real nice older guy. He just now sent me pictures of the plate and the numbers on the frame, also along with a bunch more pictures of the frame. I really dont think it has been cut. Obvioulsly its sitting up a little high i just cause there is no weight to the bed right now with no wood in it, He also says there are 2'' drop springs back there that have not settled. With all the pictures i have i am faily confident in my purchase.

If there is anyone from around Monroe GA that would like to go look at it for me that would be great! Just please dont buy it out from under me!

Re: Advise on buying this 67 C10!

i think it is a very risky chance you take/at a minimum you'd need to relocate the rear end then the driveshaft wont work and there maybe a clearance issue with the gastank when you move the rear back

in a crap shoot the house generally wins and you're the playa not the house

The gas tank is not in the way of moving the rear end back. If i post pics of the frame ID can someone run it for me or is there a thread i can look it up in?

for $6k, id look elsewhere, especially after seeing the pics.

Here is a pic of the truck I bought around a year ago, for "not much more" than that truck.

Re: Advise on buying this 67 C10!

That vin tag is supposed to be on the rail inside the door opening of the cab and they ain't supposed to be removed. The title goes with the vin that goes with the cab.

There are alot of nice parts for the 6K but the fact that there is a picture of someone holding my vin tag still attached to a peice of metal that is not on the truck would worry me.

Go into the local forum where members might live close by and see if a couple members might run out and take a look

Re: Advise on buying this 67 C10!

I don't know how it works in your state, but in Indiana when you purchase an out of state vehicle you have to take the car/truck into the DMV and they inspect the vin to verify that it matches the title. It just might raise a red flag if you have to hand them the VIN tag along with the title, just something to think about.

In most states in the Northeast and in california a newly riveted VIN tag is a red flag to the inspector. Those rivets are a special rivet not an ordinary pop rivet. When they do not look right in CA they check the VIN on the frame and it had better match. If it does not a NATIONWIDE stolen search enquiry is started (and oh yeah, they impound the vehicle on the spot). If it comes back stolen you forfeit the vehicle and are charged with a very long list of 3rd class felonies. Don't walk away from that truck. Run as fast as you can.

The plate matches the VIN on the Frame and he has a title to match, i dont see the problem? Supposibly they sell the original rivets ?

Im pretty sure im gona pass on it already, thanks for all the advise on here. I think id rather pay the money for a original rust free truck. I can always restore it from that state with out any of these issues

Plus who puts TBI motors in anything anymore? i dont really wanna pay him for that motor, when its the first thing id take out lol

the search continues!

Personally I think there are several "issues" that can all probably be easily explained. You need to find someone to go look at it for you, or get on a plane and check it out yourself.

Re: Advise on buying this 67 C10!

lol that truck would fly thru inspection here without a bat of the eye..... esp. if you used the OEM style pop rivets. the inspector would have to know the difference for it to even matter which most wont... they would check the vin on title and check vin on cab and be done.... 15mins and i could have a title in my hand in my name free and clear for $25......
from the sound of it/look of it ..its a legite truck and a really good price.
