Has anyone installed a Vintage Air Mark IV underdash unit?

Andy, I'm a column shifter type of guy so I'm good, but why dont you shift it a bit to the passenger side for clearance?

Because the factory heater box is in the way. I don't want to chop it up to make it fit.

I just got a truck that has one of these units in it. I haven't messed with it yet though.

I have a model similar to the Mark IV installed in my 68 Stepside. I will add photos when I get a chance this afternoon.

So this is my set-up, it is an ACME brand from around 1970, so I am considering it as period correct. As you can see it fit reasonably well, especially after I modified the interior heater box. The carpet just needs to be laid flat, so disregard the wrinkles.

I modified my interior heater box so it didn't occupy the area directly behind where the under dash unit is. Doing so reduced the amount that the unit sticks out from the dash.
