Green 1959
Here are a couple of picks of my support. It's just made of 2x4s with spacers in the middle so it is slightly wider than the boom on my hoist. The part that attaches it is a metal construction "T" strap. Kim |

Re: My 58 Fleetside
I have a question on the powertrain. I have a 1/2 ton with 4.11 rear and set up for a turbo 350. There is a place locally that can convert to 3.38 ratio, I was thinking about maybe using a 700r4 trans, is this setup going to be overkill for something that I want to daily drive and that is freeway friendly? Im hoping to get the best fuel mileage possible with a 250 l6

Re: My 58 Fleetside
I'm waiting for a repair panel for the radio before I paint the bottom on the dash, I'm going to get a USB deck that fits in the factory location. Should be good stuff.

This is the old wagon wheel rims and low pro tires. Now with taller tires on ralley rims. Looking for a taller tire though, what do you think?

Re: My 58 Fleetside
Thank you Kim, hey you 55-59 guys can I get some picts of how the front shocks are mounted? My truck was kinda tore apart when I got it. Also would it be cool to paint the rims Kelly Green? I think it would look good with the trim rings and caps on there. I also think that doing a "truer" green would be cool, thats why I am thinking Kelly Green. Please let me know. And as always

Re: My 58 Fleetside
Check the upper brackets carefully for cracks right below the shock bolt hole were it widens out. When I was running stock shocks in the 70's both of mine broke off. A search of wrecking yards showed that it was a common problem, all had been removed. I made replacements out of flat stock.
