Re: 13" and 14" Corvette Brakes for C10's

Is there any partcular Mcguaghys spindle that you need to work with this setup or is are they all compatable with the brackets?? Does the rotor thickness matter?

we can machine any mcguaphys drop spindles to work with our vette kit but its probably cheaper to sell your used spindles with brakes and buy a brand new set of our machined spindles. You won't be able to reuse any of the orig. brake components from the original spindles anyway and can sell them complete already mounted on your spindles.

Re: 13" and 14" Corvette Brakes for C10's

Question... I already have the McGaughy 13" Big Brake kits front and rear...Can the already cut spindle I have be adapted to work rather than buying another set of spindles. Mine are already on the truck, but I'd love a better looking caliper

yes, I have a bracket that will work, you will probably have to turn the Mcgaughys hubs' diameter to fit the c6 z06 rotor and the spacing bushing will need to be made but otherwise it will all bolt together. I can walk you through it if you need help with it

Re: 13" and 14" Corvette Brakes for C10's

To the guys who want to source their own c5 or c6 parts. I supply the drop spindle, 4.75" bolt pattern hubs with bearings, seal, dust caps, and screw in 7/16" wheel studs, along with a bolt on mounting bracket for $600+shipping. You will need the rotors and loaded calipers to finish off the kit. I've seen take off vette parts as cheap as $100 on craigslist and swap meets

99 and up have a one piece hub and bearing assembly unlike the earlier trucks so no they wont work but I'm pretty sure I can redrill your hubs for a 5 bolt pattern

Re: 13" and 14" Corvette Brakes for C10's

OK, so if I'm starting from scratch and want 4 corner 13" brakes with single piston sliding caliper brakes with parking brake and the goal of easy service on the brakes, what can you do? I'd prefer to use something like SPP diamond slotted rotors with Hawk HPS pads. I think I'll get better pad area out of single piston sliders than some multi piston caliper, and I don't like drilled rotors, they tend to crack when you run them hard and eventually they look crappy anyway. I'm OK with going to 5 on 4 3/4" and changing out the rear axles to do that if it makes it easier to do off the shelf replacement parts in the future.

I'm planning out a project right now and want to do this all at once, I'm probably going to be using a Porterbuilt dropmember front with coilovers. Looking to do probably a 3" drop front and 4" or 5" in the rear.. I'm not just looking for brakes that look good behind wheels, I plan on using them and using them hard. Oh, project is a 69-72 Blazer/Jimmy and 18" wheels BTW, also want to stuff 295/45/18s on all 4 corners so I'm probably going to have to play around with backspacing to get everything to clear. Since these trucks lack a locking column I also plan to relocate the parking brake to inside of a Tuffy center console using a Lokar hand parking brake though I don't think that matters much.

Way2lo2 sounds like you could supply such a requirement, no?
