Re: Truck names?
Well, depends on who's saying it. Right now my dad calls it "your piece of junk" but it will be painted shortly...as soon as my paint guy can mix up the 2010 camaro synergy green to get the formula for single stage paint. He's calling PPG tomorrow morning for me to see if they have the formula codes. Sometimes we call it the bondo baby, but it will be Colonel Kiwi in a few weeks (Previously Colonel Mustard from the original owners terrible decision to paint over the factory paint with nasty dark yellow paint.)

Re: Truck names?
My wife has named the '71 GMC "BUB" after her grandfather that bought the truck new. My 47 Chevy sedan is just called "The 47". My 69 Camaro has been around for 28 years but has never received a name.

Re: Truck names?
Mine has always been a "she". It just feels right, and a male name just would not fit for me. Maybe its because I spend so much time with her lol. Often she is called "the 67", and while building her my buddies named her "Project O.C.D." due to my obsessive nature of paying attention to all the details. I have finally given her a name though... Charity. Her full name is Charity Case, as she was built for the Parsons Pledge chairty and raffled off to someone before I got her, and rebuilt her. That kid that won her before didnt know what he had on his hands, in fact his first question when he was handed the keys was "What kind of gas mileage does it get?" Some guys are just not meant to own and build these trucks. His loss, definately my gain

Re: Truck names?
The '68's name is "Bruiser". Cause its about the color of a bruise (at some point)
The '69's official name is "No Buck", but also gets refered to as POS, death trap, shop truck, beater, etc. depending on if me or my wife is talking about it. |

Re: Truck names?
My Girl friend named my 67 c10 "Jethro". She names all the cars, my 2004 jetta wagon is "Arnold" , my 56 bug is "Smokey"..(it caught on fire once) and my 79 c10 is "Bandit".( It pulls smokey around, so she thought it would be cute to have smokey and the Bandit)
EDIT: I just noticed she named them all male names, hmmmmm, maybe she doesn't want me to have other women in my life.... Last edited by VWBeamer; 07-05-2011 at 03:39 PM. |

Re: Truck names?
I haven't had the truck for a month yet, and we're still stuck on names and gender. For the time being, if it's a girl we're calling her Layla. If it's a boy, he's Mike Honcho.
