Re: Zombie Hunter Project.........

That's nasty. You're going to need more than an intake and gasket to fix that. That 327 sounds like a good idea about now. BTW, even with the issues on the engine, the rust, etc, you got a screaming deal on this truck. The seat alone is almost worth what you paid for it.

Re: Zombie Hunter Project.........

So after checking out the motor I found out that it wasn't a chevy 350 but a chevy 305 so I knew that I needed to get a 350 motor to drop into it.

After making a few calls I was on my way to pick up a early 70's corvette 350.

Now I am feeling alot better

Re: Zombie Hunter Project.........

oh and we are still trying to figure out exactly how we are going about building this truck but I will make sure to keep up with plenty of pics and descriptions of what we are doing along the way.
Right now I am the owner of the truck but I have my best friend and other friend working on it as well.

I have a habit of picking up project vehicles but this one really got me interested so I went for it.

There are alot of plans for the truck but some of them might take a lot longer than some of the other guys on here since I am working off a next to nothing budget for this truck.

Re: Zombie Hunter Project.........

ive always done it all by hand. big ol cheater pipe can work wonders. earlier in the year i came across a compressor for cheap, a big classic one that worked well but it stopped working and i havnt got around to checking it. at the last swap i scored another oldie for $20. its worken great so far.

nice build. which one are you in the last pictures? guy with the orange hair or one with the name tag.

Re: Zombie Hunter Project.........

I didn't mean for it to come across as a bad thing because people use an air compressor it is actually more of an inside joke I guess. If I had one I would probably use it all the time but for some weird reason I always get stuck with crazy people who like to steal from me and sell my equipment so I have just not replaced the one I used to have lol.
The last couple days has been alot of fun for us though. Today I am going to work on pulling the 305 out of the truck then I guess I will work on fixing some of the wiring in the engine bay as well as cleaning up a little bit more of the motor we got last night.

Re: Zombie Hunter Project.........

Glad you scored another engine. And as hgs mentioned....that seat's worth as much/more than what you paid for the truck...

Also, the belts from the 67....do they have the bowtie on them? Those are also fairly valuable.

Re: Zombie Hunter Project.........

Well as far as the seatbelts in the truck when I got it the truck only had 3 of the male ends so I went to the junkyard and found a set from a donor69 c10.

Yesterday we worked on the truck for a few as you can see from the pics below

Re: Zombie Hunter Project.........

Well right after I got done typing the last message the mail person knocked on my door to deliver my new headlight system that will be going into the truck, I think I am going to love these with the halo headlights I already have
