Re: 402 engine

DUDE!! thanks sooo much... I think this can change this community in a big and positive way... I know people will be natural skeptics at first but once I get the ball rolling it will help EVERYONE and that's what I am about bro! It is hassle free shipping all coordinated by me through reputable and insured companies. Really big for people who do not want to ship doors, fenders, and such... Better the denser the parts are actually like trans, rears, and engines. But see some one will have incentive to ship doors and such therefore broadening there network... Say a customer wants 4nice rust free doors from AZ... the guy does not ship... the most the seller would have to do is find a pallet.. buy a cheap set of ratchet straps ($10-$20) which he would include in the price..strap to pallet...done deal... No hassle with quotes, boxing, s&h, NOTHING. I would be in constant contact with buyer and seller... Up to date track numbers and arrange all shipping... So Simple...It is 100% legit and not freelance... I just provide the service and the companies...UPS FREIGHT, Roadway, Express Lines, etc. would move the product.. full liability just as any other shipment... Big things in 2012!!!

Sorry for hijacking thread... Just really excited!!

Yeah... it takes a LOT of the hassle and stress off the seller and shipper... The deal is my cousin is regional manager for one of the largest shipping coordinators in the World... Now yes we can all try to get somewhat better freight rates with quite a bit of work... We can offer rates that takes normal businesses literally a decade to establish in sales numbers, volume, and customer rapport. Lift gate trucks can be provided as well if need be with no access to forklift on buyer or sellers part. What a majority of people will do is hoist engines, trans, etc in their truck and take to a buddy or mechanics shop or business which has a forklift they can utilize. The key is the seller just sells the part and all the shipping would be handled by my cousin and I. Quotes will be provided and finalized before sell of course or whatever meets each parties needs. All the seller would have to do is strap the engine and or trans, to crate... It is literally to your door service. Same with axles and complete rear ends... they all 85 class shipments... Doors are class 60... Basic rule of thumb is the denser the object... obviously the less space and cheaper to ship.. .hence the lower the ship class...the more dense and mass to object being shipped... Once again.. sorry for hijacking the thread but I feel this will open a lot of avenues for this site and all the members involved... happy New Year... "KEEP TRUCKIN' "

Duane, what do you suppose it would cost to ship this BB from Nevada to Northern Indiana? I got a rate through my work for $350, but it sounds like you have a lot better connections. We typically use a logistics company that gives us a decent discount.

Thanks,
Mark

I can have this shipped from Nevada Zip 89408 to your zip 46590 for $225-$250... Does your work have a forklift or loading dock to get it off the truck???

Re: 402 engine

Wow---thanks for HeavyMetal and his help on shipping items. I have several items like cabs, A stepside bed, front clips and roof off a '67 I have tried or avoided to post on this site because of freight costs which I often see on threads that "kills" the deal. Maybe we can all start selling more of our stuff thanks to HeavyMetal.

To answer some questions about this engine- The casting # is 3969854. I'm selling it as posted in the pic with the exception of the P/S pulley. I have motor mounts and a power steering set up (complete) for an additional cost. The alternator bracket is included in the sale. Thanks for all your replies. I also have another 402 out of a '72 with a TH400 bolted to it for sale that I have not fired. I want $850. for it, and the P/S brackets and A/C compressor and brackets are on it. No carb.

Re: 402 engine

Pretty big difference huh??? Cabs and Beds I will have to sort out... But I can still make them affordable... Cabs are high class 250/300.. All freight class is based on weight density pretty much... So say a cab ways 350 on a pallet... I t would actually be cheaper to ship the cab with doors and more weight becuse it would increase the density of the cab thus lowering the class.... I am working on getting one shipped from Nevada for me personally now actually... Once I finalize the specifics I will be more efficient and highly accurate on exact freight class and prices... I believe it would really be Ideal to put a cab inside of a bed and ship together if a customer wanted both..

Why don't you start a shipping thread I was going to send 2 tires from the chicago area to N/W Washington State and UPS Store wanted $140 which killed the sale

I am working on that.. Just really no good place to "see it" can't really put it in for sale ads because nothing is for sale... I do not want to incur the cost of becoming a vendor just yet... and I am not "selling" anything once again...just providing a service. so I am just sorting it all out..

If this is still for sale, count me in if the shipping isn't too much to 75034. I have a forklift and a business address.

This has gotta be a record for a 1 item for sale thread. Glad you sold it - good luck the other stuff you have - I'll be watching for it!
