Business got in the way of working on Corina, we are moving the rear axle back 1-1.5" (whole crossmember) then we have to finish the front end and see where we end up on height. then we will install the rear bags. Since we are not going for a prostreet look (with super wide tires) I think the bags will be behind the rear axle at the trailing arm..........or possibly on top of the rear axle but still outside the frame.....we will see next week. Have not updated in a while, Corina is progressing slowly, here are a few pictures,

Installed the 5 x 5 rear axles, put the cragars on so we could make sure the airbags and other suspension components would clear.





Installed 2 x 2 spacer blocks for the rear end





removed the front trailing arm brackets, made spacers to move them back 1.5: and turned them upside down.

hey Kieth, who's bridge kit did you go with, PB? I'm torn between welded and bolt on... I like the simplicity of the bolt on, and the savings of weld on. I've done two other welded notches. just not in the mood lol.

Quality air ride (suicide doors) it was $135.00 could not beat the price, but be careful, it does not come with any instructions and you can easily get confused when assembling it. we had to un tack twice before final welding. (you have to assemble it upside down so if you do not watch it you will put it together backwards) I would suggest tacking it together before tacking to the truck.
Since we do not have a hearty enough welder we took it took a shop down the street and had them make the pretty welds, cut the frame , etc. cost $125.00 for them to complete it. We just got the donor truck for the front end, power steering, disc brakes, etc so now we take that apart, cup the lower contol arms, rebuild the donor front end , install the front air bags, then we can see how low she is going to go. After that we can finalize the rear suspension.

sweet, I'll be watching this build closely I bought my '61 for $2200, new torque ($150), and robbed my '62 of the sbc (paid $1500, but sold seats already for $250, and I already have air compressors, switch, rear bags on the '62 i'll rob). so i'm in to the '61 for $3600 ish so far. I like your idea on the weld on. My mig is strong enough, but I'll ask my wife's cousin to do the welding once its tacked in, he's a certified welder that will save me over $300 from the bolt in notch I was looking at! thats almost enough for the tubular rear trailing arms...hmm......lol (or that bed cover!)
