The driver told me that trailer was 3 days old....it had some really nice aluminum ramps that tuck right in the back cubby hole....

Re: I patiently wait....

Alright... you've got it home. You've had a few days to "absorb" it. Have you started making plans for it yet? Or are you gonna ride it "as/is" for a while?

Re: I patiently wait....

I really haven't been able to absorb it...it went undercover Monday after I got it (as you know, our baby girl came into the world Monday as well), and not till yesterday was I able to pull the cover and look at her more....a very solid truck indeed, and I think I'll drive her for sometime before any changes, if any...I may get a new dash pad, steering wheel, add a tach dash, and hopefully find an am/fm radio

It was great working with Geoff too - really nice guy - happy to have her go to a good home. And, Geoff, as you know you can't find a better place online for advice and comradery (trucks or otherwise). Best to all. TT

Sweet burb, a good addition to your family. Not as good as the little one =), but still very cool.

Awesome! I can't wait to see it in person. For the burb experts...is that the way the rear lights are supposed to be? Geoff, if you decide to ditch the hubcaps, I want dibs.

Yeah, after I posted that, I went and looked in the burb section and saw that the lights were like that. I like the original look too. Don't blame you for keeping them. That thing looks "right" with them on there....to me anyway.

Re: I patiently wait....

Well, I stopped by (unannounced) to see the new Burb at Geoff's house. And I have to say... WHAT A FIND! I love it! Unfortunately, I had just picked up my wife's mini-van at the Dodge Dealer up the road, so I wasn't even driving my Burb. But I am blown away by how nice it is. Super rare survivor! I cant wait to take 'em all cruisin!

Re: I patiently wait....

Nice Suburban Geoff!!!

You may know the story already, but I sold that truck to Tim and was the lucky guy who found it in Northern California while I was still living there.

The story goes that the original owner bought it to tow his boat to the lake (the reason for that crazy 50-gallon dealer installed tank!), and put almost no mileage on it..... he kept it until around 2002. The next owner bought it and kept it for around a year but was forced to sell it when his company moved him up to Washington state.... I bought it from him in 2003 and enjoyed my sterwardship of that lovely 'Burb until July 2010. It was a sad day to be sure.... I'd really enjoyed my time with the old girl and we'd had some great adventures along the way (including a cross-country drive from CA to NH with another early Chevy in tow!)

I'm happy to see that she's treating you well.... she is a true unmolested survivor, and always seems to bring smiles and waves every time she hits the road!

Best Regards,

-G

Is it too soon to call "dibs" in case you ever decide to sell???

Re: I patiently wait....

My Burb says it is too soon. They've bonded. She is glad to have another "rare" 3 door running around town with her.

That is ONE SWEET RIDE!!!

Geoff: See how cool your Burb looks towing a trailer? Ya gotta buy a camper so you can go camping with us! We've already booked 2 trips this summer. One is Easter weekend! Ever considered renting? hehe...

My fantasy was always to get a classic AirStream camper hooked up in tow behind that one.... Something with that great "Atomic Era" feel....

thanks Greg...I'll put you down as 1st dibs, but plan on waiting a LONG time mainly my questions are about engine stuff (looks like you did a complete rebuild), suspension stuff (did you replace all with new?), and curious why the rearview mirror was installed as a 71, not on the windshield since it's a 72??
