Contemplated selling her soon as I have 3 other projects on the go as well right now. Either that or might get brought down a few inches, remove the box, back half the rear, links and turn her into my trail rig....lol.

Re: Project: Overkill (1998 GMC SAS3500 on 40's)

Put her down on 36x15.50x20 MT ATZ's, and replaced the rear shocks to the RS9000 Rancho's. WOW......what a difference in ride!!!!! Those sway aways are valved so damn hard. I was always blaming the leaf springs, and now to realize that most of the issue has been the expensive shocks I bought. Unreal!!!! I would never buy these for a daily driver again....Even picked up a brand new matching spare off Ebay for 200 bux!

Re: Project: Overkill (1998 GMC SAS3500 on 40's)

Well the time has come, she is getting down graded and parts swapped/traded/sold and once she is somewhat sane and a bit lower, she is getting sold.

Here is my defence....bought a 99 crew cab short box, and working on bringing home a 94 crew cab long box with a SAS partially completed, with a 98 p pump cummins swap/5spd NV4500. Don't need three of them and need more room. So the builds are on again...

Re: Project: Overkill (1998 GMC SAS3500 on 40's)

Just sold it a couple months ago, and ya.....it has gotten ALOT of recognition, more than I ever expected. Surprising way up here, we don't get that many opportunities to show off our stuff. I don't live in the great white North by any means, but we are kind of out of the loop up here, but still have some killer custom trucks n such. We only get to drive summer toys for around 6-7 months out of the year, rest is build time....hahaha.

Re: Project: Overkill (1998 GMC SAS3500 on 40's)

Well...

As luck would have it, she has returned home after a 3 year build/new owner. Buddy of mine finished it up for the most part, and it's now what you see here. I will give more of a detailed break down once I get my home computer up and going again. So this is a real quick breakdown of what has happened since 2013. Will also get more pics as I get time.

24v p pump, nv4500 5spd, 205, twin stick, d60/11.5 aam diffs, 3.73 gears, custom built clutch, custom ground cam, rebuilt turbo, tuned, all new weather stripping, all new greasable bushings front to back, 52/63" springs, shackle flip rear, flush mount winch, new harness front to back, both diffs rebuilt, new hubs, all new bearings, brand new rebuilt 4500, new shafts, dodge crew seats, new injectors, new hardened input/output shafts, firestone bags with compressor, new belts, air intake, batteries, alternator, starter, main bearings in the motor....(motor has 95,000miles on it), and the list goes on and on and.....Everything has been fully rebuilt or modified to a better version of itself.

It's no drag car, no rock crawler, no mud bogging machine....just a hard working Chevy with a cummins heart. She has more than earned her keep over the past three years. And she has held her own more than once.
