Keep the gears, throw in an overdrive and a LS engine.
Got a 72 with a 6.0 and 700r4 with 410s. Cruises great. They now offer a switch activated torque converter lockup. Keep it unlocked when your gettin on it and switch it when you are cruising or "trying to save gas money"

Do you still have this truck or would you happen to have a pic of the SPID? I'm trying to solve a mystery of why my truck has C/10 emblems on the fenders but a Chevrolet Custom emblem on the glove box door. Yours is the only other one I've seen here on the forum with the same emblem combination.
