well it was a ground issue, i checked for shorts, nothing.
rewired, nothing. started cleaning a reattaching grounds from engin to cab, nothing
bought a braided ground attached to box and frame, and eveything works great and brighter. yes brighter. like the thread says check everything.
I have one minor problem though the rear side markers don't go on when I use the turn signals. they do go on when i turn on the lights. Like I said a minor problem.

Pretty sure that's correct. Only the front side markers flash with the turn signals -- the rears are running lights only and do not flash.

you guys are so lucky at having back up lights having a trucks that never came with them was my 1965 3/4 ton.You learn to appreciate having them most new car or truck owners are oblives to them Me I just got them working on my 1991 ranger and on my 1968 3 door suburban On my 1971 ad 72 they work grate

Every time i fire up my truck at night i walk around it checking blinkers brake lights and my back up's Have one brake light out is $150.00 I remember when it was a fix it ticket all about money now

you might be right. just read a post that the rears don't blink, just the fronts.

I'll confirm that on my '71 only the front side markers flash.

Rears just stay on.
