Here's the measurements from my '69 SWB which still had the original springs. While most trucks have their springs "broken" down over time, this truck was truly an amazing find and I feel it was fairly close to stock height. Before and after drop (before wheels) the truck was running 235-75-R15's.

Before the drop:
Driver's Side Front: 33 1/2"
Driver's Side Rear: 33"
Passenger Side Front: 33 1/4"
Passenger Side Rear: 32 7/8"

After the drop:
Driver's Side Front: 28"
Driver's Side Rear: 29"
Passenger Side Front: 28 1/4"
Passenger Side Rear: 28 3/4"

After the new wheels (4/3/10):
Driver's Side Front: 28 7/16""
Driver's Side Rear: 29 5/16"
Passenger Side Front: 28 1/2"
Passenger Side Rear: 29 5/16"

More info here (wheel info on pg 15):

I think this project may be "Trailer Trash". Spends more time on a trailer than on the road

Wow!! That's a shame, take the insurance check and do the work yourself and you should come out on top. So what color were you planning on going with, still Pale Ale??

Re: I'm In the Club

Man this sucks. No, not going back with pale ale if full paint is in order. I'm a little torn on exactly what I want tho. In a way I want to go with a solid Charcoal Gray but I have always wanted a factory two tone, like a Gold and White. Guess I need to decide shortly.

Re: I'm In the Club

You know I love the charcoal grey on our trucks. But you can't go wrong with two tone, just more $$$.

What the heck is wrong with people!!!!!
How could you not see a yellow vehicle? On the lighter side, you were hinting at a color change anyways.

Plans are for a charcoal gray for paint on mine! I think it goes well with a black top and black interior...

Re: I'm In the Club

It may work out, but I sure wanted to drive this thing for a while before it goes under the knife, damnit. The frame appears ok. Looks straight and truck sits level. All the panels slid around. The drivers Side fender to cowl gap opened up, that bothers me most about the damage. Where should I source body panels from? Anyone make oem quality parts or should I start scouring for factory take off parts? Where can I score a factory quality grille?

Goodmark Industries has some pretty good metal, I wouldn't buy any from anywhere else unless you find some straight rust free fenders or something on craigslist.

Start scouring for original parts... that 2wd blazer deserves the effort.

Sorry to hear about the accident.

Wow, my heart skipped a beat when I saw the wreck picture. Sorry about that, but like all things I am sure it will come back bigger (or lower??) and better.

Re: I'm In the Club

I was looking at the thread and posts thinking this was a great looking Blazer. Then I got to the picture with the Blazer involved in a crash and my jaw dropped. This really sucks... I feel your pain I can say Ive been their. But it does look like an eazy fix. Just do a fast repair and drive that MOFO. Once you are really ready to do the complete paint job then take it in. Plus you will have more ideas of what you can do or customize. Ask me how I know! After doing a ground up It's going on 5 years and my blazer still has not seen a drop of paint. Enjoy driving it now. Good luck.

Re: I'm In the Club

CTEN, I really want to drive this thing, I believe I'll have to get it together and keep it drivable while I'm working on it. Thanks to some very helpful board members, looks like I have most of the parts needed for a front clip swap with all OEM parts. I'm pumped. On a sad note, look what showed up yesterday.......kind of disgusting to get these ordered before the accident and then get them in after it's been sent to the shop to have the frame checked .
