Re: Chevy version of the Ford High Boy?

my guess is it was a dealer installed option or aftermarket. i have not heard of GM offering higher ride heights on any of their trucks. perhaps just maybe the did and it was a lost option, i dunno. Doubtful

Re: Chevy version of the Ford High Boy?

what about those 79-ish stepsides with the graphics package, rollbar and pushbar, and 12-15 tires? Those were a little taller, and it must have been more than just the tires, because 33s would rub without a couple inches. I'm thinking of a tan truck with multicolored stripes, and Hickey tubular bars on it.

The frames are different from 77.5 to 78 up. I have a friend that has a 78 and someone has swapped the high boy stuff to the 78 frame. It was a mess! And the high boys did have a lift spring in the front and blocks in the rear like already mentioned.
