my guess is it was a dealer installed option or aftermarket. i have not heard of GM offering higher ride heights on any of their trucks. perhaps just maybe the did and it was a lost option, i dunno. Doubtful

what about those 79-ish stepsides with the graphics package, rollbar and pushbar, and 12-15 tires? Those were a little taller, and it must have been more than just the tires, because 33s would rub without a couple inches. I'm thinking of a tan truck with multicolored stripes, and Hickey tubular bars on it.
