That's a damn near perfect fit. I love the way it fits the curve of the bed.

Re: New tail lights what do you guys think?

Very nice! Changing taillights can oftentimes be hit-or-miss. You made a nice choice because it really accentuates the curvature of the bedside. It looks factory!

I've seen guys try long rectangular lights (i.e: Caddy), and I'm not a real fan of them. It's really hard to top what GM designed back in the '60s. Those guys had their act together. If you compare a Ford or Dodge truck style in the '60s to a Chevy or GMC, it's not even close.

I am a simple is better guy. I like the idea but I think when its done and the stock bumpers are on and the bed is all smoothed out. No stake pockets no tailgate chains. It'll look right. Before you place to much judgment let me get it finished first!

A fellow High Desert resident!! When I posted on your thread, I had no idea you were local. We should meet up sometime. There's a few High Desert guys here on the site, and we should all get together when Farmer Boys starts up their cruise night in the spring. My '64 won't be ready, but we can just meet up and grab a burger and B.S.

About your avatar: Is that your truck? The reason why I'm asking is that I'm looking for an original white patina'd tailgate for my '64 and that truck in your avatar is almost a twin to mine. I have a really nice tailgate, but it's primered. I'd trade tailgates and throw in some nice extra parts to sweeten the deal.

when I read the title, I thought "oh no, someone butchered another stocker!!" - then I looked at the thread. Wow, I think those look great!! Beautiful job on the bodywork. You may have started a fad. I mean trend. Very cool.

Re: New tail lights what do you guys think?

That looks fantastic in primer. It is so well executed it could almost pass for stock without the lamp installed.
