Not being one to spend too much on trucks... I'd say you got a hell of a bargain. Nice Truck!

Re: I Won the Ebay auction

I missed the whole rally vs hubcap question, sorry - It's a very original truck, hubcaps look good on it. Ask yourself - are you ever gonna put disk brakes on it? If so, just hang onto the rallies for now and know you'll have em if you add disks. In the time between now and then - keep your eyes peeled for some 15x6 71+ 6 luggers and if the whole hubcap thing grows on you, then you can have your cake and eat it too. But above all, BUY THOSE SEATS!!!!! Wow, what timing - nice to have someone offer something that hard to find right after you buy your truck. Sweet. Would love to see more pics when you get a chance.

EDIT: HOLY COW!!!! I just saw what your winning bid was. Dude, you cleaned up - that's the best deal I've seen in a long long time. CONGRATS!

What a great looking truck and I love the color combo.
Another vote on leaving it as is and drive the hell out of it.

So how does this factory overdrive work? Never seen this set-up I guess, is it a divorced overdrive unit or something like a GearVendors that replaces the tail shaft?

Re: I Won the Ebay auction

I'm normally prone to leave people to their opinions and choices, including such things as wheel and tire combinations. But, I have to say it's my opinion that hubcaps suck...I vote for the ralley wheels! (Of course, I'm also not a real fan of the 18 - 22 inch wheels, either!)

I was surprised it didn't go higher than that. The final price was only 50.00 over the reserve and there were no last minute bids. I'm thinking not everyone wants 3 on the tree but for me that was the big attraction. Doesn't the truck have 15 x 6 's under the Hubcaps?

The 3 on the tree is a plus for me too. My 2 last C10's have been 3 on the tree.

Re: I Won the Ebay auction

Yes, you should have 15x6's on the truck now, however, they are not likely disk brake wheels if original - disk brakes were not available til 71 and later. The difference between a 70 and a 71 wheel is the 71 has a less-tapered inner wheel section, i.e. more "carved out" if that makes any sense to accomodate the caliper. That's what I was getting at. The rallies will clear disk brake calipers as will 71 and later steelies - 70 and earlier steelies will not clear them.
