+2 on that. if you got the skills and tools go for it. 2wds are harder and harder to find that havent already been restored. there is alot of 4wds.

I guess I'm all for customizing and making it how you want but to a point. None of the things I change are irreversible. If I want to put something back to original it usually just as simple

Re: buy a two wheel drive or convert one?

I say conversion- they made like 75,000 4x4s & about 6,000 2wds. Mines a real 2wd & been "hacked" but I still have all my cargo space & can still ride 4 people in it- exactly how it came originally- Im not a fan of a pickup truck with a barley usable bed-or-a 4x4 that you don't wheel because it's too nice.

Re: buy a two wheel drive or convert one?

Been there done that, #1 ( Best options are find an original 2wd, #2 ( buy a 2wd frame preferably with title and glove box door, swap the tub off the 4x4...Earlier post this week 2wd roller frame in Tx with title for ..2K I would go that way ....Converting a 4x4 is a lot of work and a fair amount of fab work to make axle line up and spring perches that work. All can be done and if you have the time and desire you can make it as original as possible or updated with modern drive train....Ed.
