Re: 65 LB Full Poterbuilt
Funny you asked I was just up there yesterday dropping off the motor and trans. Delmo has it all fitted except the trans, just needs to finish welding it all up. I forgot to snap a pic. He says it will be at powder coat in a week. I'll get some pics posted next time I'm up there.

Re: 65 LB Full Poterbuilt
No, I'm using the Hooker that Potorbuilt listed. Looks like I might struggle when it comes to install steering linkage.

Re: 65 LB Full Poterbuilt
With this power rack, what will you do for a pump? The Chevy pump's output pressure is too high for the Mustang rack, right? Just curious how people are matching them up these days.

Re: 65 LB Full Poterbuilt
I had the same issue with a rack I had in my camaro.ended up using a part from detroit speed. this thing goes right in line on the pressure side of pump.makes the steering alot less twitchy.

Re: 65 LB Full Poterbuilt
I didn't have any issues with the power steering pump pressure on mine. I'm using an 88 Mustang rack and used a hose set from Summit and the only issue I had was hooking the hoses up wrong...which was very interesting. If you do run into pressure problems I think Speedway sells a regulator for that.

Re: 65 LB Full Poterbuilt
I was not aware of the differential in pressures between the MII r&p and Chevy pump until the night I spun my '40 Ford on a wet road as I zigged to miss an opposing driver on a curve who was zagging on the center line of a narrow road. That is why I brought the subject up as I will be facing the issue again when I modify my '65 as you have done.

Re: 65 LB Full Poterbuilt
KRC power steering has a mulitude of valves avaiable to tweak the feel. From their website:
Flow Ratings 7.2cc Aluminum Pump Part No. Pump Flow KRC 25304000/25404000, ID:4 1.05 GPM KRC 25305000/25405000, ID:5 1.32 GPM KRC 25306000/25406000, ID:6 1.58 GPM KRC 25307000/25407000, ID:7 1.84 GPM KRC 25308000/25408000, ID:None 2.11 GPM KRC 25309000/25409000, ID:B 2.37 GPM KRC 25310000/25410000, ID:C 2.64 GPM KRC 25311000/25411000, ID ![]() KRC 25312000/25412000, ID:E 3.17 GPM 13.5cc Cast Iron Pump Part No. Pump Flow KRC 25304000/25404000, ID:4 1.5 GPM KRC 25305000/25405000, ID:5 1.75 GPM KRC 25306000/25406000, ID:6 2.00 GPM KRC 25307000/25407000, ID:7 2.25 GPM KRC 25308000/25408000, ID:None 2.50 GPM KRC 25309000/25409000, ID:B 2.80 GPM KRC 25310000/25410000, ID:C 3.10 GPM KRC 25311000/25411000, ID ![]() KRC 25312000/25412000, ID:E 3.70 GPM There are four valves that reduce assist and increase feel (KRC 25304000-25307000), and four valves that allow more assist, but lessen feel (KRC 25309000-25312000). KRC has two packages that include four flow valves, allowing you to have the appropriate valve to tailor your power steering system. KRC 25300407 is a less assist, more feel kit, while KRC 25300912 is a more assist, less feel kit.
