Re: Opinion Welcome...Raceline or Coys

I'll swim upstream. I actually like the coy's better. However with a caveat, I like the gray. (I have gray with polished lip in the garage, different wheel though). I actually wish I knew these existed when I bought my streeters.

I would buy the racelines if you have the budget for them. I myself did not have the budget for billet wheels so I went with Coys.

Re: Opinion Welcome...Raceline or Coys

Do you want a quality product that will always shine up, or a low cost wheel that will never have them same level of shine?

Re: Opinion Welcome...Raceline or Coys

I want the racelines but waiting the 12 weeks they told me is going to kill me. Im already going crazy waiting for my porterbuilt products to arrive then I can't even measure for backspacing until the build is done then another 12 weeks for the wheels? holy moly

Not to sway you away from what you had your mind ultimately set on, but Billet Specialties has a faster turn around time (often 3-4 weeks depending on design, etc.). PM Sent.

Just trying to show options for you, and they definitely make a nice product.

Re: Opinion Welcome...Raceline or Coys

I've only personally owned one set of billets but when I see them in person at shows and at the store they look like chrome to me??? Maybe slightly different shade (chrome generally looks more yellow right against a billet wheel but away from it you can't tell a difference) but just as shiny... I've also seen guys chrome over billet so they never have to polish...

I know there's a big stigma against chrome wheels out there but honestly I just don't get it...
Yes, they are heavier than billet...but unless you're drag racing/autocrossing in it I don't see how that matters...

Chrome eventually chips or flakes and billet dulls.

Re: Opinion Welcome...Raceline or Coys

I used a sealer called Zoop Seal on my polished iForged wheels. I believe Zoop Seal was purchased by a company called Shine Seal which is pretty much the same product with some improvements. Check them out.

I'm hoping to have the coys anyday. No pictures on my 2 door yet but here is another picture that gave me the inspiration.

really not trying to be argumentative or rude but I just don't see the difference. American racing does polished outers with chrome inners on some of their wheels and when new you can't really tell the difference....

No, I know. Sorry if I seemed rude. I was just throwing my opinion out there.

not at all. I just didn't want to seem like I was

I do agree billet are awesome because the mfr's make them in any offset and generally the styling is much better than what you can find in chrome wheels. And I personally like the racelines pictured slightly better than the C57's...but for the difference in cost, I'd upgrade the brakes behind them or re-do something else on the truck

Re: Opinion Welcome...Raceline or Coys

I dig both looks, I've always thought the billet's have a more matte finish and I hear they are more work, I'm too poor to find out though.

Maybe someone with experience can chime in on this too, but how much work does Chrome take to keep it from pitting after a couple years? Is it a dry thing? or polish? or both?

they are work but for me it keeps me from doing work inside the house as for chrome i had them on my DD and never pitted but then again i kept those clean too with a little wax had the them for over 6 years, it really depends on what you want for your truck, we can all chime in but we all have different taste.
