Re: Maiden Voyage
Beautiful work Mark. Glad the Lady likes it and is driving it. I'm still trying to convince my youngest that the Blazer will be her first car. She's dying for a VW Bug...yuck.

I have one word for your work......CRISP! The turquoise is classic and the parchment interior is imaculate. I love it.

Re: Maiden Voyage
The color combo reminds me of tri five chevys. Very classy. What is on the floor in the back? Speakers?

Re: Maiden Voyage
Your very close on the colors, its actually 58 Chevy "tartan turquoise" which has just a little more blue than the tri-five turquoise. Yes those are speakers sitting on the floor, they will end up being mounted sideways behind the seats.

Re: Maiden Voyage
Thank you again for all the compliments!!
Per request here is a couple of pictures under the hood.. Now when I look at it, I wished I would of painted the engine semi gloss black instead of chevy orange. |

Re: Maiden Voyage
Super nice ride you built Mark. You should have debuted this on the main board. Many people will miss seeing this awesome ride. I never look here in the Blazer area, the only reason I caught this is because it was at the top.
I hope to see it in person soon ... probably wont be in your shop though with the wife out enjoying it =)

Re: Maiden Voyage
On the turquoise portion of your instrument panel, did you smooth it? or paint the texture?

It's kinda funny as the wife originally wanted me to paint the entire repop bezel turquoise, but upon using scotchbrite on the chrome portions I mentioned you may want to look at this, it looked almost like brushed stainless which matched the console cup holder so she decided to have me just paint the black portion turquoise, which turned out to be alot more work than painting the entire bezel. LOL. Sometimes I should just keep my mouth shut!! |

Re: Maiden Voyage
I like the way you used the 67-68 steering wheel to match the 68 theme on the front clip. The little details are what makes a build really cool.
And I assume you put electric windows in, but where are the switches? Last edited by 29od1; 06-07-2012 at 08:04 AM. |

Re: Maiden Voyage
After seeing how good your top looks smooth, I've decided to go that route.

Re: Maiden Voyage
I really like how your top turned out. My brother thinks the waves and ripples from the uneven surface might take away from the overall appearance of the truck but, I don't think it will be that noticeable or that big of a deal.
How do you feel about it? |

Re: Maiden Voyage
29od1 Good eye!! Yes it does have power windows, the switches are in the face of the console.
99-LS1-SS Yes there are ripples and waves but I still think it looks better than the texture, Unless you stand and look closely it is not that noticable, Although I will admit if it was any color other than white I would probably shy away from, Or spend ALOT more time on making it straight. Re: Maiden Voyage
Nice Job. I also like the colors. The orange looks good on the motor gives more detail.

Re: Maiden Voyage
How did you handle the radio? Does it have one behind the cover? Do you have any close up pictures of the dash?
Sorry to ask for so much. I just like a lot of the stuff that you've done with your Blazer and it helps me make decisions as well as helping me consider stuff I haven't thought of yet. Thanks! |

Re: Maiden Voyage
DAMN!!! GREAT JOB MARK!!! I'll deff have to bring the lil woman down and check it out as she loves the classic Chevy trucks as much as I do. But then she'll get made I haven't finished her '64 Caddy..actually she'll get mad that I haven't even started on it hahaha So maybe I'll have to keep her away from your shop till she can drive the Caddy
We'll be down in Oregon, June 19th-24th I think, so might have to stop by on the way down or back up and check out the blazer again. Nate
