Talking Re: New to the board and also my first JIMMY!

Ya it is slow work, I just fixed the same on my floor, then saw how bad a job someone did on my rockers (inner and outer) and cab corners so changed them too, then both doors, slow but just finished a couple weeks ago, very happy. Always wanted a Jimmy with about a 6" lift and 36" mud tires and a big block, not now though that I spent so much on my truck, second time owning it too, cool body styles aren't they. Keep us posted, will be watcking the build.

Re: New to the board and also my first JIMMY!

Well Imliked the suv body style so much and needed one for my twin girls for a daily driver I on a temp whim bought a 79 Bronco, fixed it up sold it twice and finally built it properly then... still not a Jimmy sold it again and ended up with my 71 GM again. I no longer need a suv but a truck as my kids are older now and starting to drive so going to teach them to drive a standard with the 71. Here is a pic of Bronco, cool, but not a Gm. You like what you like right.

Re: New to the board and also my first JIMMY!

If you ever plan to take that top off - you are going to need the torsion boxes (the technical term for the things that are gone and have saddle tanks in their place).

The torsion boxes that NTR72GMC gave you keep the body from flexing when the top is off.

Yeah I know I got to switch them out I just need to cut them off the floor they are attached to and get them on.
