Re: Some help with stroking my 305

No Blue Square they don't want us to do anymore on the truck. They feel that nobody wants to see a car or truck more than twice. It's my truck so It will show up again.

They should do a survey on the Velocity site. I like long term projects where you see the same car undergo many changes.

Re: Some help with stroking my 305

Are the new pistons an absolute nessesity----because the new crank will put the 305 pistons out of the block?

Seem like alot of trouble just to get 30 more inches. May be more effective to get a centrifugal blower assuming the the crank nose can take the strain?

If you are looking for a 350 block, I can arrange that for you. I have a friend that lives in Mangum and works out here. 350's here are like buttholes, EVERYONE has one. I know he will be coming back there this coming weekend for 10 days. SO let me know.

Thinking more on this.... I'm having a hard time imagining you could stroke a 305 for less than $3k. By the time you buy the crank kit, have the machine work done, and all the nickle and dime stuff like gaskets, hoses, spark plugs, etc... It's going to be at least $2500 I'd think.

Don't be afraid to look for a running car in your search for a 350... You can probably pickup a running Caprice or something for cheap. Swipe the motor and sell the rest or scrap it out. One of the reasons 350's are so popular in the hot rod crowd is that they came in everything and are still cheap and readily available. They're like belly buttons, everybody's got one!

Beware of the "Original 69 Camaro" motors though, there seem to be a disproportionate number of Camaro 350's in the wild!
