Re: HELP! Installing door glass...
So, I've read through all of the posts talking about vent window first (or last), channel guide loose (or out) . . . . .so I'm a bit confused. EXACTLEY, what is the step by step method? Thanks very much, Jim

Re: HELP! Installing door glass...
Remove two bottom screws on rear channel guide and loosen upper screw. Install window glass first. Then vent window. Tighten channel guide screws. Voila!

Re: HELP! Installing door glass...
Does all of the inner workings like the door opener hardware and window crank mechanism go in first? Sorry for the ignorance, but I'm not yet clear on the sequence. Thanks

Re: HELP! Installing door glass...
Yes I installed the door latches, door handles and window regulators first. Makes the most sense to do it that way I think.

I followed this and had ZERO difficulties. Hope it helps and I'm sure there's a dozen other ways as well. Best of luck. |

Re: HELP! Installing door glass...
haha sorry I know this doesn't help the thread, but I remember the first time I had to pull apart the doors. What a %$^#$^#% headache... It's easy once you get it though. I used the link posted above when I was trying to figure out the same thing.

Re: HELP! Installing door glass...
man,
its funny but i have never installed the side glass before the window vent. on the old beaters that i have done i just wanted to spruce up the rubber and trim so the vent window was never removed.. i don't remember it ever being that difficult but i replace the glass right after it was removed i do remember that the rear channel is loose and the glass berly fits... however i am interested in putting in a one piece side glass and am looking for info on installing one. thanks andrew k

Re: HELP! Installing door glass...
Not sure of how long its been since this thread was resurrected. I just got done putting my doors back together today. I stumbled on what I thought might be useful information to add to the conversation. With my vent windows out I installed the window regulator assembly ensuring the roller was engaged in the door track. I laid the rear window guide in the back of the door. Roll the regulator assembly all the way up so the rollers stick out of the top of the door. I found its super easy to insert the rollers into the window track with the regulator all the way. Then roll it all the way down. There was enough room to insert the vent window assembly and install the two screws in the bottom and three in the top of the vent window. After that its just install the rear guide, work the seal around the top of the door around the rear window guide. Hopefully this helps some one along the way.
