Re: my 67 swb build

I ran into another problem tonight when I went to put my wheels on. the fronts would not go on all the way. they fit when i first got them but someone had already converted the front to 5on5 using salvage yard parts. The western chassis drop spindles I used needed to have 73-87 hd rotors to work and it seems the hub is bigger then what I had before. I decided to use a grinder to chamfer the edge of the rotor hub back about 3/8" instead of mill my wheels out. (better to grind on a 35.00 rotor then a 300.00 wheel). did one side and wheel fits well now.

Re: my 67 swb build

Ok here are the pics I promised. I got my tie rod adjuster sleves from the machine shop and I got them installed and the toe in set fairly close. I also installed my boyd's tank and a spin on filter and ran my stainless feed and return lines. I got tires mounted on my wheels and put my wheels on so now Im back to a roller againName: 103_0217.jpg

Re: my 67 swb build

I am getting ready to fit my cab back on, but before I do I am going to do all the jamb , underside, and inside of the cab coatings and paint. I am considering using the lizard skin products and I wanted to know if anyone had used them. I want to use the sound deadener inside the cab with a coat of the heat shield on top, and the heat shield on the bottom of the cab and the fire wall. Does anyone have any advice?

Re: my 67 swb build

Now we are getting super close on paint, with just some assembly, and final buff left. I should have it back by the end of the month! all the interior is at the upholstery guys place and should be back about the same time. Ive got everything sprayed with lizard skin, and ready to put down some foil backed butyl. ( same as dyna mat just way cheaper at home depot) and start installing the interior.
