Yes there are some trucks that are set up right and stay the same year after year after year, not falling for short lived trends. The steel wheel is a timeless no-nonsense design that always looks good.

Exactly. Growing up in 1970's suburban So Cal, the neighborhoods were full of those trucks and campers. My dad wasn't a truck/camper kind of guy but had those same seat covers in his '61 Impala.

Unfortunately, a lot of those trucks got hacked up by kids in the 1980's.

Am I seeing both a hand throttle and cruise control in those pics? That has to be a rare setup.

I don't know really. It kinda looks like an aftermarket cruise control. My wife says it does not have a hand throttle. Gotta take more pics when I get back down there.

It looks like there is a hand throttle in the dash pic. Probably aftermarket cruise, as I don't think it was a factory option with a manual trans., although the servo in the underhood pic looks suspiciously GM.

Nice truck for sure. What does he do for mirrors when the camper is on?

yowsa, that is gorgeous. With the 12 packs, he'll probably just think you're trying to be a good son-in-law. Keep up the good work!

The camper is custom ordered to fit no wider than the bed rails and no longer then the bed so he can keep the tailgate up. The stock mirrors work just fine.

Re: My Father inlaws '72 K20

Nice truck! I too got a kick out of the Pioneer Super Tuner. I have one that has been in seven different trucks, including the one I have now. Replaced it with an in-dash Custom Autosound several years ago, but still have it in storage, and I think it probably still works other than the cassette part.
