Re: 3/4 husky 350
Another option, if you can - run it by Classic Heartbeats, Olympia, Wash. - Wess Hepp. I'm sure he can tell you what you have and a good asking price. And, If you need quality replacement parts, he is the guy in your area.
Don't be offended, but most of us on this board are purest, kinda like historians. We see things as they were... I believe there is a thread in FAQ section on posting pictures. The biggest issue is getting them sized correctly. I use picture manager on my computer to resize if needed. Lets see that spid!

Re: 3/4 husky 350
Spid pics, and the very cool sticker on the glove box door. Didn't post the title pic because of the personal info on there. The truck pic is blurry, didn't size well.

Re: 3/4 husky 350
Interesting truck. Definitively a Chevrolet and not a GMC as purported initially. That alone made me suspect the truck in light of the Chevrolet emblem on the sticker. The fact that it does not have a "Deluxe" badge below the "Custom/20" is also a point. The lack of the "Deluxe" badge made the bright vent and windshield trim suspect as they were not available on a "Custom" trim level.
As it sits, per the SPID it is a pretty run of the mill, abet nicely equipped, Custom/20 Custom Camper save for the "special paint". Looking at the pictures shows the interior metal to be black vs the ochre color it would normally be. If the truck is/as original the black would qualify as "special paint" The stickers are no doubt a local dealer added items. The artwork just does not seem polished enough. If they were factory we would likely see a 9000 series decal call-out on the SPID as well. It was very likely a dealer/regional special run, 2800 seems like a large number. There may have been different stickers for other series trucks or engines with this specific paint scheme. As a "special truck" it really is not of greater than normal value except possibly to a very select market like the selling dealer's family.

Bigfeet, we can't see the lower right of the SPID label but does it have an order number printed on it? Neat truck, thanks for providing more info for us. I think its cool that certain dealers did things like this.

Re: 3/4 husky 350
Jud, The Inflation Fighter didn't have the bright window trim as part of the RPO YF7 However chrome hubcaps and chrome front bumper were part of the "package"

Re: 3/4 husky 350
Ok so the interior was NOT black. There is a masking line on the SPID, I kind of hoped it was original. Now that Deluxe emblem is really there, on both sides? I cannot see it in the first picture and normally I can pull up about anything. Must be the shadow if it is on the left side. Is anyone going to post more pictures of this truck? Would really like to see what is special about the paint.
As far as dealer claims... like a recruiter they would say about anything to close a deal. Ever notice how many dealers have "Special Editon" vehicles that are usually nothing more than a badge set, maybe a stripe and a healthy addendum to the sticker along with paint sealant?

Re: 3/4 husky 350
The trick is turning it into dog food and a 67-72 truck or better yet a Longhorn like Taylor's :-) How is he/it doing anyway?
At one point I was working on a SPID breakdown to pictures and drawings book. At the time it seemed most people were not that interested in what their truck was but only what they were going to hack it into.

Dealers often do little specials. My local dealer back in '88 ordered a minimum run of 50 powder blue S10 Blazers and did a promo special called "Rhapsody in Blue" with a little sticker. It took months to sell them off! But a few years later they were selling special paint purple pickups. Other dealers will offer true specials. Again in '88 when Chevrolet went to the T400 platform and independent 4x4 front axles I remember a dealer had a run of about 50 trucks built with the new body and the earlier solid front axle.

Re: 3/4 husky 350
Don't think they are coming. The truck appears to be more gold than ochre and the "Deluxe" emblem is present. As the interior was this gold color and has been repainted the special paint is probably an earlier gold/white scheme. If I remember correctly GM would go back 7 MY in colors for a cheap and easy special paint request. If anyone is interested it is currently on CL.
http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/3289812473.html If someone else could post the pictures it would be a good idea from an archive standpoint. My dialup connection is giving me absolute fits tonight.
