Re: Hope I ain't trolling but?

Back to colors on trucks,I've learned to never tell anyone what color I plan until it's time to order the paint. You can change your mind every time you see a color you like or you mood changes. As far as other people's opinion goes,I've told people what color scheme I've planned and gotten a "hmmm..." or an "Ohhh...". Obviously they're not too sure about my plan and don't want to hurt my feelings. But,after it's done I get."WOW,that looks great!". I am independent and not afraid to stand out,yet be within what is generally acceptable...not different and weird. That's how you set trends. You can go with what's safe,or public consensus, but you'll end up with a color that's played out before long. I try to come up with something no one has thought of,yet once they see it will think,"Hey,I shoulda thought of that".
As far as the drama on this thread, the staff puts a lot of effort into maintaining a friendly atmosphere here and there are rules/guidelines to assure that happens. I think you knew this could possibly be an unacceptable topic by reading your title. It's real simple,if you think it may disturb the site it probably will. We all have rights but we also have to consider others. While I don't find your thread disturbing, many others will and do. You have to consider that your meaning or tone can be misunderstood or taken in the wrong context, too. So,riding the edge can be sketchy at best. The best thing is to think it but don't start a thread on it. It's one thing to offer your view within a thread,it's another to create a thread on it.
