Inside every longbed is a shortbed waiting to come out!

Half the truck, but twice the value and appeal. You can't go wrong with that formula. Don't be skeert, cut that biotch up.

Just curious, what is the total cost involved of getting something like this done? I am seriously considering this on the 68 we have.

I agree. It's his truck and he should be happy, but give me a long bed any day.

Re: If you love unmolested longbeds, don't look!!!.......or
You're not only going to get a far nicer looking truck you're saving the environment with the better fuel economy from a lighter truck! Long beds are terrible on the environment! Look at all the extra steel wasted making those things! Cut them all short and recycle the steel! The world would be a cleaner place without all those long beds on the road! Long beds should have to pay a tax to help clean up all the damage they do to our planet!
I'm not serious by the way. Short beds are far more desirable though, long beds just look so out of proportion. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: If you love unmolested longbeds, don't look!!!.......or
i know most of these trucks are retired from truck use so this doesn't really apply in this case but any body who actually intends to use a truck as a truck will understand why a lb is far superior to a sb. as to the desirability and value of the sb what do you think creating all these sb is gonna do for the value? not gonna increase it, supply and demand. i guess the positive to that will be one day all us lb lovers will have the rare trucks once most of them are cut up.

Since you have a nice bed already. It should be a pretty easy conversion. Good luck.

This stuff is so funny!! Some of you should work as a writer on some of the late night television shows!! I've always been amazed by the strength of people's feelings about these trucks. Long, Short, Step, Fleet, etc. Then there are those who absolutely wouldn't cut a LWB down to a SWB, but you would make all sorts of other changes without giving it a thought! Oh well, not only is there a tremendous amount of technical information on this site, it's also good for entertainment!!

Or something I drank
Nah, it always makes me nauseous to see a perfectly good long bed cut up to make a stubby. But to each their own.
