Right now it has 15'' wheels. Not sure on the exact tire size. I bought this as an unfinished project off someone. When I got it they already had the cab mounted to the chassis. The last truck like this I built on a s10 chassis was higher though I do know that. I didnt have to tunnel the floor like this for the driveshaft. I just had to build a small hump for the trans. I am going to try and tear the truck back down this weekend and do all my welding and clean everything to paint the chassis. I will try and measure then. If I had to guess its only raised off the frame about 3''.

Re: New Project Chevy AD truck

We have been busting our buts on the truck here lately. I have the chassis cleaned and painted in POR-15 now. I also started the metal work on the cab. Both cab corners are replaced and starting on the inner and outer door bottoms. Those Chinese Patch panels are not easy to work with and get fitting back right.

Re: New Project Chevy AD truck

Got some updates on the truck been going at it pretty hard here lately. I now have all the air ride plumbed and wired up. I got to test it for the first time yesterday. I also got my engine and transmission painted and I plan on dropping it back in real soon. In the mean time I had another one follow me home.

Re: New Project Chevy AD truck

Haven't updated my thread in a while. I have still been busy working on my truck though Got some progress pics. The engine and trans are back in and the cab is back on the chassis. Dash is painted and the glass is back in. Also got my gauges mounted and the wiring is almost done. Hoping to do a test fire on the engine this weekend.

Re: New Project Chevy AD truck

If you dont mind me asking did you build or buy the ls mounts for your s10 AD swap? Im thinking of doing something similiar with a 5.3 and was hoping for some input from someone who has done it.

Yes we came up with what we wanted and had a local guy laser cut them out for us. They came out nice.

Gonna have wheels and tires put on tomorrow. Then its time for a shake down run. After that I gotta finish my hood and put a little paint on it and its minor details from there.

Nah gonna hold off on the e level. Maybe one day when I build one to keep. I really like the manifold and how it works though so far. For now this one has an avs switch box wired to it.

Re: New Project Chevy AD truck

Got the new wheels and tires on. Doesn't even look like the same truck. Also had a local guy here come out and pin stripe it and paint my shop logo on the door.

Getting real close to being done with this truck

Re: New Project Chevy AD truck

It is best to get a s10 standard cab long bed truck from 82-93. Those are the easiest to use. You can also use the steering column and the brake booster and pedals from the s10.

What did you use to paint the interior? Looks like it has a little bit of texture to it? I really like it..
