Re: Where are all the trucks????

I bet.. It is a nice truck. I am going to keep my eye on that 72 Chevy. It took it about 2-3 months to sell with the PO at $1250. Now the price is up, and it's getting close to Christmas. Most of the people in my area that would be interested in picking it up usually can't afford to. Living cost around the military base keeps prices up and ability to sell is hard sometimes. And right now we got a lot of Fort Riley deployed, doesn't help much when the main income for the economy aren't present.

So, I am going to keep tabs on this one and see if it sells. Maybe I get lucky and pick it up when I get home.

Re: Where are all the trucks????

Don't feel too bad. Took me nearly 2 years of searching to find my '69. Unmolested unchopped trucks in near original condition are rare here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Not to mention RUST.

I didn't like the spotlight when I got the truck but I love it now. It doesn't work but I do have one that comes with it that I think a lot of parts will swap over to make it work

Re: Where are all the trucks????

Only reason I would feel bad is that I should have spent all the money I have on 50 or so vehicles on a few 67-72 trucks. I probably would have at least 5 fully restored buy now. And now, after my 69, I am only going to really be searching for 71/72's so I don't have to convert them to disk brakes. Or find one already converted.

Re: Where are all the trucks????

Gotta love those disc brakes! Had a lot of 67-72 trucks but really only do the 71 and 72 now for that and a few other reasons.
Dont worry about the spotlight not working, I was secretly plotting to remove it. LOL!

Re: Where are all the trucks????

California is loaded with 3/4 ton trucks and Longhorns too. Los Angeles, Bakerfield, San Bernideno; just follow the map up the state to the top, but rust free is further away from the coast line.

Pfft! Who needs disk brakes? I just toss an old 366 BB out the back as an anchor.

Tim, your new truck looks to be almost identical to your current Chevy!

Re: Where are all the trucks????

I looked high and low here in Texas. Finally found me one, with the options in wanted, and grabbed it quick. Now I'm in the rebuild stage. Still looking for some original parts, but for the most part I have what I need. These beauts a few and far between around here.

Re: Where are all the trucks????

Jud,
You are right! They are very similar and he and I had commented back earlier this year about how the two would be cool together in the same barn.
It will be like dejavu everytime I turn around in my shop..

Re: Where are all the trucks????

Well, I got the opportunity to meet a really nice board member on Saturday.
Blacksheep is a great guy with some reall cool trucks!
I wish we could have made our plans work but for whatever reason the truck and I werent a match.
Great to have met Blacksheep and now the search goes on for a 72 3/4 ton.
Probably going to try to stay specific to the year and to a Chevy but that isnt set in stone yet.
Tim
