Re: Are my BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires discontinued?
Coker tire purchases the actual molds from companies when they discontinue an item, had the same problem with my car, had one set of T/As for summer from BFGoodrich, and one from coker, I can assure you they are exactly the same. Hope that helps.

[QUOTE=lts70;5698758]Do you think these are worth $230 a piece?
At $230 each I would have to seriously consider the Michelin 31-10.5-15 at about $170 each. I run these on my Z71 (265-75-16) and they are a really good tire. Much more grip that BFGs, and many more miles than I get on the BFGs on my 72 C10.

Re: Are my BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires discontinued?
I'm running a 295/50/15 on a 15X10 Weld Pro Star. The truck has a 4/5 drop and clears the tires. Ruined one of the old tires, a Dunlop GT Qualifier, and couldn't find a replacement. Finally bought a set of Cooper Cobras, but they weren't cheap.

The outer tread has a line at right angle on the newer ones and on angle on the older style. Confusing, look closely and you can tell.I have both in my possesion, what style are yours? |

Re: Are my BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires discontinued?
Around here....15-inch tires that you can find are new. Unfortunately, some folks can't afford new so they look for used and used 15-inch tires are getting harder and harder to find. I gave two to my brother (he's in dire straits). I went to 16's on my GMC, for a couple of reasons. They don't matter for this discussion.
But, I'd never seen that 285-70 before and I agree that it looks killer. I ran (still have) 275-60's mounted on my 15x10's, but those tires are getting long in the tooth...having been on there since 2000. Even though it's been off the road for 5 years...they're not new.

Re: Are my BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires discontinued?
I think the thing that bothers me the most is that the Silvetown tire has a sharp ridge where the tread transitions to sidewall and the BF TA's has a round smooth transition.
Am I the only one seeing this?

Re: Are my BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires discontinued?
Well fast forward 2 years and I still haven't found any old stock 285 70r15 BFG TA's. I am to the point with my old tires that I don't have a choice any more, I need new tires. Has any one ran these Coker 285 70r15's ??? They just seem to have a different skinnier look to me from the pictures.

Re: Are my BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires discontinued?
I would be careful with putting on old tires. I have had an issue on my '83 K20 with older tires. A tread separated and did a number on the bedside. I was pulling a trailer down the interstate helping someone move. I think 10 years is the limit I would allow.
http://www.hagerty.com/articles-vide.../Shredded-Tire http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete...jsp?techid=138 there are a lot more.

Re: Are my BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires discontinued?
i could be wrong but someone told me, that they make the 15" tires when they get a big order that's why they are hard to get, a matter a fact any 15" tires are hard to get and when you do they are double the price that they used to be

Just as a word of caution. If anyone buys discontinued tires, you want to check the date codes on the tires. Even if someone found them "brand new" by a retailer, it means they have been sitting on a shelf for a LONG time and that is not a good thing for your safety
