Re: Findad's Black Magic
Yes it base coat/and alot of clear coat. I am super fortunate to have Fred, he is getting paid to do it, but no where near what it should be worth. He is putting in the extra effort too because after tracing the history of the turck, it belonged to some of his relatives......so its like family to him....lucky me

Re: Findad's Black Magic
I may have messed up, but went with the 3"/4" drop coils and shocks from Brothers. I had to go the least expensive route, am about broke now.

Re: Findad's Black Magic
Well, here is the new stance, still haven't given it a good road test yet, but really like the new look, may add a block to the rear to level it up, we will see.
Now to get rid of the purple tint and get all the lights put back in and tested so I can see it all lit up

Re: Findad's Black Magic
Tim - Great truck! Love the look. Can you tell me more about your wheels? I'm looking at the same ones/same size and I'm being told I need to run a spacer in the back. Are you running a spacer? If not can you tell me the offset or backspacing of your wheels?
Thanks - Matt

front is 20x8 0/4.75 back is 20 x 10 with +18/6.25 is what was on the boxes, I don't remember where I found it but somewhere it recommended -5 front and +15 so I got as close as I could and got lucky. Quote:
I know, the back is coming down a couple to level it, that will do for us old guys.

Re: Findad's Black Magic
Thanks Matt for digging thru here and bringing it back to the top. I am ashamed that is has been this long for an up date but here ya go!
Here she is when my wife's grandfather first found her I love it!! Bad news, after pouring several $$ and hours into her, the wife decided a kitchen remodel was in order, then a tax error from last year surfaced so now that Im totally broke.....the transmission goes out!!!

Re: Findad's Black Magic
Sweet truck. Its almost a twin to my brothers 72 cheyenne 402/th400, but its a lwb. I was going through this and when I saw the wheels, I said to myself "it eeally needs some "de-elevation". You will love the drop. Handles much better. Since the rrans went out, sace up for and overdrive!

Re: Findad's Black Magic
Well, its been a long winter, and nothing got done to Cheyenne (I named her, hahaha), until a few weeks ago. I was able to re-route a few $$ and got the tranny done. My son convinced me to let him rebuild it, since he and a buddy did his allison, i figured he could have a little piece of the project or if he failed, I would never let him live it down. I stuck with the TH350, I know, I probably should have gone with the overdrive.....but??
It was a very good evening when we put it back in, went back and forth in the drive a few times, barked a tire and decided to give her a quick bath and run to town for fuel. Needless to say, this, was a GREAT Day!!
