You said the interior was clean. Do you plan interior mods? If not price what that stuff costs to replace. Was it complete? If so, then that is a plus cause you won't have to chase parts. The things you mentioned, steering, carb, gaskets don't really seem like that big of a deal and most likely will have to replace in anything you buy for $3k anyway. Use this truck as a base for others. You can recoup some money in the wheels. Those toppers around here you practically have to give away. For $6k you better get a very good paint job. I bet you could get a decent one for about $2500 but if you want to show it then pony up. I don't know about the truck market where you are but that truck around here would be between $4000-$5000. I think at $3800 you could'nt get burned, you are talking about $600 and you'd come close to that in selling the wheels if the tires are good.

I paid a Gee for mind, put two grand in the engine, 2 gees in the paint and I know what I have!!! keep looking!!!!
