Re: trucks at work
The '64 is now in use bringing hay and grain to the horses at feeding time each evening. It is a long way from the hay barn to the horse barn. Used to suck using a cart.

Re: trucks at work
Hauled 1200lbs of shingles home to finish the 500sq foot car port. Squatted the rear a few inches, but no issues getting them home. Then the PITA of getting them all on the roof. But its done and the truck did a good job on this project. It towed logs across the yard, main beams once I milled them, all the plywood (in one load), all the shingles (in one load). No complaints for my old chevy truck. Will get some pics up once they've uploaded.

Re: trucks at work
/\ That is a really nice looking truck. The combination of the chrome trim, the spare tire being in place, the hub caps and the spotlight really float my boat. The fact that is working puts it in supermodel status.

Re: trucks at work
thanks endlessearth....its my daily driver also. I have a 3/4" horse stall mat that I place over the wood when I need to "use" the truck. Helps protect the wood. Ive had my big block carried in the back as well as the pallet of shingles....about the heaviest things I've moved lately and the stall mat has worked flawlessly. Best $50 spent at Tractor Supply yet. I'll post a part number in case it'll help anyone else. They are 4x6', which makes them perfect for a short stepside, I guess the long bed guys could cut one down and the fleetsides could use two to cover the bed space.
Heres the link to the stall mats to protect the bed. Part #2219003 link....http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/stor...at-4-ft-x-6-ft

Re: trucks at work
fetchmeapepsi....nice looking posts. I have a stand of white cedars next to the house that I'll use for the interior of the barn which is the next build. This one will be enclosed and give me a 3 stall setup for my projects and the new home for the 63.

I've been combing the forums looking for pics of trucks with lumber racks.
Not finding much.

Re: trucks at work
Here's mine when I had to pick up a half cord of wood earlier this winter for the house. Stopped in to get some parts for my new cb at the time and saw the KW dealer and stopped in to get a new hat. Also had to tow a fellow members truck shortly after that to yank out his 283 and powerglide.

Re: trucks at work
Not sure if the second pic counts, that's the engine that's supposed to be going in the truck when I get a chance, it's been sitting that way, covered up for about 5 1/2 years now,

Re: trucks at work
That bucket held about 6 yards, 13,500 lbs. of what we call granite gravel. Truck handled it like a champ, front end was a bit light but that’s not the trucks fault
Ya think ah guy who has been here as long as me would know how to post in the right section Last edited by 57NAPCO; 08-21-2018 at 02:19 PM. |

Re: trucks at work
Is that a factory 4x4 truck? Not a 60-66, but you don't see many DRW trucks that aren't crew cabs, much less K30's. Looks nice. I've been driving a '75 the last few months myself, still need to start fixing my '65.
