I can show you the back roads to avoid Raton!

I can't guarantee you won't get caught in a blizzard!

Man Mondo, those are some pretty rad rides, I am especially loving that Suburban, Orange has long been one of my favorite colors.

As far as your routing goes, keep in mind most places in California right now are well over $4.00 a gallon for gas. Towing getting 5-6 MPG, that's going to be a expensive trip!

One of my favorite little tools in trip planning is www.gasbuddy.com they have national fuel prices listed there, and a temperature map that tell you where the cheapest fuel is at.

Either way you take it there will be some long hard pulls in there. I do strongly recommend carrying 10-15 gallons in Jerry cans, because towing you get a lot less MPG and you can easily get yourself into trouble not having enough fuel. (And don't ask me why I know this! )

It should be a trip of a life time no matter what you do. Be sure to take plenty of pictures!

Mr. Beast.

Your right, it'll be long, expensive, and enjoyable.
I think the route I'm taking will be less as far as elevation is concerned. I've been the northern route, and 2nd route. They all have more mtn passes and elevation hurdles.
Thanks for the links. Uncle Sam is paying my gas, and lodging. I'm still uncertain as to which route...as long as I end up in El Paso to pick up the Suburban.
