Re: A couple pics i snapped on the way home tonight.

Caught a few more tonight. Interesting clouds were brewing. I wish I would have been faster with the camera. They were even more red from the sunset 10 mins earlier.

Great shots! If you look about 5 or 6 links down from where your thread is currently you'll see an art shots thread. Your first picture will probably make them all jealous!
Keep up the good pics!

Oops! I guess I bumped you up too far for my directions to be useful.

So here's a link instead:

Still great pictures.

I'd vote for yours to be one of the best I've seen on the artistic thread.

Re: A couple pics i snapped on the way home tonight.

I have seen that thread a couple times. I'm not really sure why I didn't want to post in it. Maybe in the beginning I didn't consider my pics artsy since all I did was stop on the trail and snapped a picture. They've kinda moved in the staged direction after that first set; I don't want to spread identical pictures all over the board. I don't mean artistic pictures are staged but to me it seems like more photographer input is required. In short I felt like mine were different. I saw something cool in the first case it was undisturbed rangeland. Stopped to take a picture and there was my truck. It turned out nice.

I took this one last night. It just got done raining and the haze from the fires in Arizona diffused the sunset. I was painting in the shop so I didn't get a chance to go out and find a better view. So all I have is this pic in the yard.

I love the front end of the 67's and 68's. Long wheel base is nicer than short in my mind.

Edit: two more

I haven't added any effects to any of these. The sun caused the cool effect on the first pic.[/QUOTE]

Re: A couple pics i snapped on the way home tonight.

You live in some beautiful country ! If everyone had that much space to play and work in, we would have much less problems in our country ! Everyone needs at least 10 acres to take care of. You need to take up photography as a second occupation , YOU HAVE AN EYE FOR FRAMING PHOTOS, That is a talent not easily taught .........

Really enjoy the photos. Reminds of me of where I would rather be.

How has the temps been this summer in ND?

Wow, that's some amazing temps. Down here, I call 70 degree days "free air conditioning."

Hope the heat will stay down for you. Very much understand about the weather and farming.

You sound like you were once a local. Minot AFB? It's crazy how many people I've run into on internet forums that were stationed there at some point.

Have never been to North or South Dakota. It is beautiful, though. My duty stations were Fort Sill, OK, Germany, South Korea and Dallas Recruiting Battalion. Did live in Colorado for about two years, but outside of that and military, have always lived in Texas.

I love being out in the country, especially in cooler temperatures. Would love to live in the mountains, but could never move so far away from our grand children. They are my "everything" in life.

Re: A couple pics i snapped on the way home tonight.

I decided to be done baling for the day so I stopped by some of my durum and winter wheat fields just to see how things were going. Happened to find some scenic spots on the way.

I rode Dad's old bike home from town by way of my pea field about a week ago and stopped to look at all the ducklings.
