Re: New front rotors

I switched to mobil 1 syn grease but switched back to bel-ray.
The mob 1 surprisingly separated after a few years and the bel-ray didn't.
No idea why.

Re: New front rotors

After some wrasslin' and cussin' got the old calipers and rotors pulled:

and the spindles wiped down and ready for new grease:

Now to go see if these rotors can be turned!

Thanks for all the tips and help, y'all.

I too, used Mobil 1 recently. Just curious, have/had either of you noticed any "leakage" out onto your rims? I'm running steelies with dogdish caps as in my avatar. After the Mobil 1, I noticed a very small amount of grease streaking radially outward from under neath my dog dish.

So it's got me wondering, do my little metal hub caps that press into the rotor just not seal completely or is Mobil 1 just a little too thin despite all its good qualities??

Mobil 1 is definitely the thinnest, smoothest grease I've used (not that I've used a lot). The book says not to use "long fibre" grease on front roller bearing wheels, and specifies GM 1051344 which has long been superceeded I'm sure, but is that in any way related to I'm describing??
