Re: found a 72 3/4 ton surviver
Pardon my French, but that's just too muckin' fuch! So awesome for it to be black, too. Straight panels? As straight as the day she was born. Also a great example of order what you want and screw the rest. My Cheyenne Custom Camper survivor I had for many years came with painted camper mirrors and the original owner had the dealer swap on stainless. Now this one is a base truck with painted trim parts, but stainless mirrors spec'd out. Got that auxiliary battery and fuel tank, camper wiring, mirrors, etc when many Custom Campers didn't. Plain seat but with full foam. What a great example of a survivor as well as a great less is more example. That cap is a great period piece, bird hunter and all. Looks right handsome on there. I love a notch top truck as much as anyone, but that's the beauty of a cap like that...easy on/easy off.

Like Johnny Cash's song about the Cadillac plant, looks like he brought those parts home via his lunch box... ;D
Great to see a vehicle so close to original condition, I really appreciate seeing this truck. Always a big help for us guys restoring a truck back to original condition. |

Re: found a 72 3/4 ton surviver
Wow, that is a nice truck! Just curious though, and I know you may not want to say, and if you don't I TOTALLY understand, but what does something like that go for on CraigsList? Doesn't seem like the place to get top dollar out of a truck, was it someone who inherited it and didn't know what they had?

Re: found a 72 3/4 ton surviver
Awesome truck, great to see that there are still some native survivors in this great salt north. I think that cap was great, I would love one like that in white or Ochre. The trucks are hard enough to come by but original caps are one thing you absolutely can't find anymore. I don't know how often I would have it on, but it definitely is a niche that is pretty unique. I'll keep an eye out for this black beauty at local shows.
