Re: Advise on buying a truck.

Condition is everything, and if the condition matches the low miles and the truck checks out, then hell yes I'd pay $9000 for it. You can't buy low mileage and original very often; if the truck is truly original (interior, paint, etc.) and it's been well-maintained, then I'd pay the $9000. It's top of the market pricing, but it'd be worth it - to me, anyways.

Then again - consider the source. I have a 45k-mile 1986 CJ7, a 35k-mile 1991 Suburban, and an 86k-mile 1966 Mercedes. The Porsche has 140k miles on it, but it was a one-owner, well-maintained car so the low-mileage original thing became less important to me. The closer to factory original, the better the vehicle in my opinion.

Re: Advise on buying a truck.

When someone claims they have an original, I always look carefully at the whole thing. it doesnt have an original hood and doubt the paint is original because of it. Mirrors are newer too. If he still claims it is ALL original, maybe the mileage isnt either. Does it have the small door panels or full size? Did you check the paint underhood and behind the seat to see if it matches?

Re: Advise on buying a truck.

It's a no go!
Dude has not got back to me after I offered him 7,000. I didnt get to see it in person either. It's a nice truck, even after some stuff pointed out as not being original it would have not stopped me from getting it. Even 7gs was high for me but in the moment I was ready to get it. I'm over it now... Thanks guys.
