There is a safe limit for turning drums. It is usually .060" over the drums size. For example, an 11 inch drum would have a maximum diameter of 11.060" That is true for all drums and rotors. They all have a spec not to exceed.
A good machine shop or parts store will tell if they are over the safe limit for machining. Unless the drum has "hot spots" or exceeds the size limit after machining, it is OK to use. |
