the tube is cheap but I dont think I have the pcv valve either

The valve is integral in the valley pan.

From what I have read it is that way on 2004 and newer models, 2003 and older still require a pcv. The 2004 and newer also have a square back as opposed to the contoured back of this one. Let me see if I can find the pic.

Maybe I am wrong ...
