You always want what you don't have and when you get it , you miss the old.

Black walls blend into the pavement. White walls say look at me , love me...

Re: help me decide WW or BW tires
I said before that my opinion is that BW look better.
But there is more to it than that. You can get a much better quality BW with today's technology. These vintage car boards are loaded with complaints about the quality of vintage WW tires. I like to drive my classics anywhere, anytime and not have to worry about tires. Therefore, I buy the best rated tires I can get. I wouldn't ever consider WW. |

http://hurstracingtires.com/ You can also get the same technology from Diamond back tires, just pick your shoes and ad the whites. Last edited by NEWFISHER; 09-07-2013 at 11:05 AM. |

Re: help me decide WW or BW tires
Thanks you guys for all the input,I've been looking at whats out there for wide white's but i'm limited on choice because of my 15x10 rims the tires i have now are 295/50's and so far Diamond back is my only option, if I go with a taller tire like a 275/60 it will put more rake on the truck and i can't ajust my 4 link any lower.I'd like to see a 275/60 on a 10" rim if anybody is running them,as far as going with wide whites if I get tired of the look I could just mount them on the inside later like we use to with just white walls back in the day.

Re: help me decide WW or BW tires
Oooh. Really wide tires and WW just don't mix IMHO.

Re: help me decide WW or BW tires
Newfisher, on the Hurst racing Tires site I don't see anything except recaps. Or do they do whitewalls on radials on order and not have those listed?

Re: help me decide WW or BW tires
The tires on my truck are "American Classics". I bought them from Coker but they are made by American Classic Tires, http://www.americanclassictires.com/. Made in USA, and they don't have Coker any place on them. I wonder if this is the tires that some people say aren't any good.
Personally, I'm happy with them. I like the look and the ride is as good as a 57 Chevy truck with stock suspension is going to get. I've had them up to 70 MPH with no drama. |

Re: help me decide WW or BW tires
Hurst is made to order. You pick from thousands of tires or Cody can help with your choice. He orders them or you bring them to him and they bond the WW or stipe to the outer after it's buffed smooth. They have huge flying saucers on stands that are the vulcanizing ovens. They look like a giant silver doughnut that the tire sits in, lid closes and heats up. Pretty cool stuff and a great shop to check out if you are ever in the area. They have a lot of nostalgia there.

Re: help me decide WW or BW tires
Another Vote for Wide WW's. I have Diamond Backs on mine and have no issues with the quality of the tires.
