Re: Torque Converter lock up
P0606 is an Internal ECM failure code for the 5-volt reference voltage performance.
5-volt reference generally runs a little under 5 volts, 4.95 as an example. I would use a Tech 2 & review failure records or data log with EFI live/HPtuners & see what the reference voltage does. Possible causes.. ECM cant control reference voltage, Produces too high or low voltage. Short too 12 volt source....Pulling the reference "High". Short too Ground....Pulling the reference "Low" Shorted sensor....Pulling the reference "Low" Programming Error....Tuning/tuner, Mismatched OS, Incomplete "Write" to the ECM....Not getting any other codes leads to believe this is the case. |

Re: Torque Converter lock up
Thanks guys. My tuner seems to think that when I got the replacement ECM from PSI (who got it from another company) that they either took an incorrect year ECM, and tried to write a 2011 OS to it, or took a 2011 ECM, wrote the wrong OS to it, then rewrote the 2011 OS over it, which would have messed up the ECM also. I bought a new 2011 ECM that was sent to the tune shop to program with the dyno tune he already did for me. Hopefully he will get it sent back to me soon. He was at SEMA last week, so it's a little delayed.
Let's hope that fixes this pesky p0606 code. Shawn

Re: Torque Converter lock up
Can't get this to work on my 68... Wired it up just like shown, grounded out at one of the steering column bolts, ign power from the unfused source in the fusebox, brake lamp power is from white wire, but it keeps blowing the brake light fuse for some reason. Any thoughts?

Re: Torque Converter lock up
I am having the same issue using a relay and blowing the brake light fuse. I'll be interested in hearing what the experts have to say on this.

Re: Torque Converter lock up
Turns out I was using a relay with a diode in it. Didn't pay attention when I grabbed it out of the drawer. You can tell by the schematic on the side of the relay. The kind you want is on the right side of the first pic and the bottom of the second.
Hopefully this solves your problem!!

Re: Torque Converter lock up
Bringing this back to the top. Well I thought I had the TCC brake switch lockup wiring figured out on my 2013 Camaro GEN IV 6L80, but no I'm not so sure.
I know the torque converter is locking and unlocking based on paramaters within the tune (MPH) as I have been data logging and and you can see the pressure increase (lock) or go to back 0 (unlock). However, if I hit the brake when I know the TCC is locked (pressure greater than 0), it does not cause the converter to unlock (pressure drop to 0). Am I missing something here? Here'a diagram of how I have the TCC wired up (keep in mind Gen IV's are opposite of Gen III's). HELP!!! EDIT: When the brakes are not applied, I measure 8vdc on the TCC wire. When the brakes are applied the voltage goes to 12vdc.

Re: Torque Converter lock up
Rob I am with you on this. I don't have a way to log it but I too feel something is not right.
I will be waiting to see how we can fix it.

Re: Torque Converter lock up
Hey Rob, I have no insight on the TCC issue, but here's the schematic you asked about in my build thread a couple of days ago. I kept forgetting to look it up until I was getting ready to leave, so I left myself a note in my toolbox so I would remember it last night. I would just PM you this, but I can't figure out how to add an attachment in a PM. Hope this is what you're looking for.

Re: Torque Converter lock up
2013 Camaro. Did you need the Vette too? Also, it's a lot better on the copy I have than what it looks like on here. Maybe I should email it or something?

Re: Torque Converter lock up
No one seems to be able to give a yes or no answer on how to determine if it's working or not. So, I just wired mine directly to the wire that goes to my brake lights. Seems like it works the same as before.

Re: Torque Converter lock up
Rob does your trans downshift smooth or hard? mine I can feel it down shift through all the gears when I slow to a stop. If I put the shifter in the manual position before slowing down to a stop I don't feel it downshift when I came to the stop, but I only tried it once and noticed it by accident.

Re: Torque Converter lock up
Isn't that controlled by the brake switch or the blue/white wire?

Re: Torque Converter lock up
Partially. Most of the lock/unlock on the 6L80's is controlled by tables in the tune. Check this out.
