Re: Boyd Welding Fuel Tanks: Limited Time Group Buy
Tanks should be shipping out towards end of the month, and will make sure to email you all tracking when it is available. Thanks again for the business, and let me know if you need anything else at all.

Re: Boyd Welding Fuel Tanks: Limited Time Group Buy
Also got mine today....
Even though its 1967-1972.... It fits great in my 1966 C10. I had to just slightly relieve the bottom of the angled crossmember. (As Travis made me FULLY aware BEFORE purchasing that I'd need to visit that interference and deal with it on my own.) Looks GREAT! Mocked in (still have to put in 1 more set of bolts and swap to grade 8)

Re: Boyd Welding Fuel Tanks: Limited Time Group Buy
Haven't heard anything about mine but i'll guess that's because I got powder coating.

Re: Boyd Welding Fuel Tanks: Limited Time Group Buy
I'd give it a bit yet.... you probably have a 2-3 day turn around for powdercoating I'd imagine.

Re: Boyd Welding Fuel Tanks: Limited Time Group Buy
Tanks from the group buy are still shipping out and plan to have a few more leave by tomorrow. I'll make sure to send out tracking once they ship. The powdercoat does add a little time.
Thanks again for the order and posting up pictures. |

Re: Boyd Welding Fuel Tanks: Limited Time Group Buy
Mine was delivered on the 25th as stated on tracking. This is a thing of beauty, quality craftsmanship here for sure. The radius on the corners really gives it a quality look. Hat's off to Boyd. Here are some pics.

I had to trim my cross brace just a bit. The tank fit great. What fittings are you guys using?

Re: Boyd Welding Fuel Tanks: Limited Time Group Buy
These tanks look awesome and I am thinking about getting one. The question I have is my truck is lowered 3/5 and by the pictures the tank appears to hang down pretty far. Does anyone have pictures of an install on a truck with a 3/5 drop so I can see the clearance?

Re: Boyd Welding Fuel Tanks: Limited Time Group Buy
Mine pictured above has 2.5 /4" drop it will give you a good idea. Tons of clearance even with 5" drop.

Re: Boyd Welding Fuel Tanks: Limited Time Group Buy
Here is how I plumbed mine. I already had the inline pump so that's what I went with. With the design of these tanks now I can always upgrade to an internal pump later but this will do for now. AN-6 fittings with Stainless braided hose, this made it easy to adapt to the LS fuel rail.

Re: Boyd Welding Fuel Tanks: Limited Time Group Buy
The fitting is a 3/8 pipe to AN-6 90 degree, I bought them at the local speed shop.

Re: Boyd Welding Fuel Tanks: Limited Time Group Buy
I am interested in getting one of these tanks. I am curious how low it would sit on a stock LWB fleetside '72. I had gotten a camaro tank but that sits too low. I would imagine that this tank is a bit visible from the side?

Re: Boyd Welding Fuel Tanks: Limited Time Group Buy
Yes, when standing back, you can see it some. It is not that bad in my opinion, and anything narrower would just limit the capacity. It is even less noticeable when a bumper is in place vs. a roll pan.
