Re: OK, I wont cut the dash, so retro radio opinion?
Here's an idea from a K5 listed on ebay:

Re: OK, I wont cut the dash, so retro radio opinion?
That looks good, although I'm not sure what that is. Original, retro style. Anyway, I went ahead and ordered the Custom Auto Sound one & got two 6 x 9's to mount under the rear seat. I can always add an amp later.
I thought about yours and decided that for less than 300, new was worth it. You guys hammering on me about cutting into the dash & doors made a lot of sense. Mine's still all original there, and I appreciate all the input. There were actually good arguments for cutting and not cutting! I wonder what those 2 big rivets are for to the left of the radio.

They look like stainless hole plugs. Probably where somebody drilled holes for switches at some point.

Re: OK, I wont cut the dash, so retro radio opinion?
Oh, I missed the radio face gone. So that's probably an original AM radio.
Yeah, I was looking at my dash tonight and I'm glad I left it alone. I'm trying to finish my crate engine install and I'm sure most of you know how it is. One thing needs fixin and that leads to more. So, I've got the dash apart, fixed the fuel gauge with everyone from here's help. So, now I'm putting in the new stereo, LED' s in the dash, A/C vents, hoses, dash pad, new glovebox and more. This summer I'll attack the rust. I'm gonna try and make my own patches, like I've seen some of you do. What fun!

Dont wait too long before checking out new radio. From the time I installed my Custom Auto Sound and finished my build waranty ran out and they would not let me return, its nothing more than a boat anchor, bad out of the box. ]
