Re: 54 gmc... Newb Project

nice, yeah thats a good deal IMO. You can't build that HP for that hardly, esp with gen1 stuff. Going through that right now. Your harness work is worth atleast 400, trans worth atleast 200, so you got the goods.

Great G M C,
I would keep that chassis if I were you, as you will have everything to fit up the front sheet metal.
Is your driveline open or closed?

Re: 54 gmc... Newb Project

Nice start to a 54 build, I noticed that you live in madera cal? I am in patterson, and I have a 54 gmc that I picked up for my wife, I noticed your photo of the dash and it looks like the gmc logo is missing the glass, mine was too but now I am thinking that it came from the factory like this, whats your thoughts? I am in the proccess of rebuilding the cluster.

Re: 54 gmc... Newb Project

nice project. Starting my own. Inherited a few cars and this 54 GMC150 pickup, from my Uncle Ron. Shes a little rough, but people seem to love it the way it is. Just trying to learn about this truck. Glad I joined this forum. Its interesting to drive lol. I have to learn how to post pics.

My '54 GMC 100 is the same way. I'd just assumed the glass was broken.

Re: 54 gmc... Newb Project

the cabs tranny hole seems it was a Hydra-matic. and the GMC logo in the gauge cluster never had glass. Good looking start, I love my 54 GMC. Also a Hydra-matic
